I’d like to echo Clair’s sentiments in her blog entry. Like her, I’m in almost no danger in my line of work – unless you count the occassional paper cut or stapler stabbing.
When I was training, we had a series of lectures on the dangers of journalism (both mental and phyisical) but what has happened to Alan Johnston has really hit home. I never intended to do ‘front line’ journalism, but I have always had the upmost respect to those who put their lives (and their families lives) in danger to report back to shed some light on certain very dark situations.
